Colleges - Small Groups

In the Autumn Term 2008, we will be studying the book of Mark together.

What are they?

•    A welcoming place which group members feel able to, and really want to bring friends to.
•    An exciting place where we learn what the Bible says, be challenged by it, and share it with new Christians, seekers and more mature Christians.
•    A safe place where we learn how to talk about Jesus naturally, passionately and clearly.

What we do in small groups?

•    We take a look at a short passage from the Bible and discuss what it says, how we respond to it and how it affects our life today.
•    We spend time in prayer for each other
•    We encourage one another to follow Jesus more closely through the good times and the bad.

How are they run?

•    Small groups meet weekly, on weekdays.  See the college website for details of your small group time.
•    The small group Leader prepares some questions to promote discussion of the passage beforehand and opens and closes the meeting.
•    Members are sometimes encouraged to be help out in small ways, like hosting the meeting, bringing drinks or a snack/dessert, or by leading in prayer.

This term

•    We will be looking at the gospel of Mark – an exciting, dramatic story focussed fully on Jesus Christ
•    We will be using resources from uccf which are found here.
•    Feel free to take a sneaky peek before the study!
