Vanbrugh

Vanbrugh College Christian Union is a group of Christian students from the University of York who have the privilege of being part of the best college in the University (Vanbrugh!!)

We meet on a Tuesday evening, starting with dinner in Vanbrugh dining hall at 6.30. We then meet at Vanbrugh stalls at 7.00 to split off into Small Groups, and then meet back together at the end for Big Group! In small groups we usually look through a specific book in the bible to study and encourage and support one another. Then big group at the end of the evening enables us to all gather together, worship, pray, or sometimes it's just a time of testimony or sharing. At the end of the night we then head down to the bar together! In the past as a CU we have put on events within our college, served at main college events, this year we have served the community by painting a flat, and raising money for developing countries. We really want to be active christians who care about people and the university which we are part of!

Anyone is welcome to any of our meetings, regardless of their beliefs, and we hope that everyone will benefit from any activities and discussions. We also run an open small group which is designed for those with questions about God, why we believe in the bible, what we think about God and science, does christianity have any relevance today? etc. If you would like to come along please get in touch!

If you're a fresher and are going to be joining us in October do feel free to give us an email, or check out our website: www.vanbrughcu.co.uk. We look forward to meeting you!
