Hello. Ni Hao. Tjenare. Vanakkam. Jambo. Sannu. Salaam Aleikum. Hej.
… and a very warm welcome to YOU if you are an international student joining us here in the UK! You’ve made an excellent choice in coming to York. We hope you will settle in quickly, and look forward to meeting you soon …
i : Connect International Cafe
iConnect café is a casual international community to
practice English, connect with both international and
local students, and take part in cultural experiences.
At the moment, we are meeting online to chat, play
games, share food recipes and more! It’s another great
way to get to know people and relax after a day of
studies. We meet on Monday evenings from 5-6pm and
we’d love to welcome you to join us- for more information, email Rebecca (Rebecca.email@example.com).
Bible Explore is an open, friendly community of international students interested in learning about what the Bible is, what it says, and why it matters to our communities today. It doesn’t matter how much or little you know about the Bible or what you believe- everyone is welcome! We meet at Wednesday lunchtimes and we’d love to see you and hear your ideas. For more information, email Rebecca (Rebecca.firstname.lastname@example.org).
Would you like to join a community where you can share your culture and find friendship?
Join a 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 and we will connect you with a small group of students, both international and British, who will meet up regularly online or face to face. Not only is this a great way to find a community here at York, it’s also a great way to improve your spoken English.

What we’ve been up to
We have lots of events that run throughout the year which you can get involved in! This past year, we’ve held a whole variety of events from visiting Scarborough beach, to picnics in the park and having dinners together. In the first term of each year, we also run an International Freshers week where you can learn more about the British culture, and also meet other International students.
