Churches in york

As a CU we want students to get stuck in with a church at university! We understand this is a big decision so here's a helpful guide to some of the churches in York

Locations

There are SO many great churches around York, we are spoilt for choice! Most are around the city centre, with a few spread across the city.

Whether you want a student filled, or a more community based church, York has plenty of options for you to check out!

St Michael Le Belfrey

The Belfrey is a vibrant Anglican church in the centre of York, right next to the Minster. The student ministry is all about equipping, encouraging and empowering you to live for Jesus at university and beyond.

Each Monday night during term, there is Student Night - with food, worship, teaching, and small groups. They meet in the De Grey Rooms (just opposite York Art Gallery).

York Evangelical Church

YEC meets at 10:30am and 6pm at Millthorpe School. We have a good spread of all ages, from small children through to retired people.

They have a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary music to reflect our church family.

They put on several student events, such as Dinner and Discussion (an evening meal with a short talk and discussion), and student lunch every two weeks
