Wentworth College

Wentworth College CU

Wentworth College is the primary college for postgraduates at the University of York. The college's Christian Union consists of postgraduates at different stages in their academic careers (Master's students, PhD candidates, and everyone in between), as well as mature undergraduates. We welcome students enrolled at York as well as students on exchange programmes from abroad.

Membership and residence at Wentworth College are not prerequisites for coming along to our meetings. If you are looking for spiritual support from fellow postgraduates or mature undergraduates, or interested in learning more about Christianity through informal questions, rigorous debate, or listening to the experiences of committed Christians, you are very welcome to join in!

When and where we meet

When and where we meet Wentworth CU meets every Thursday evening at 7pm during the academic term. Occasionally we organise informal gatherings (usually at the beginning and end of each term) at an off-campus student house nearby. As postgraduate work typically extends beyond the main academic terms, we also arrange meetings during the summer months (and indeed during any holiday period when members are present in York).

Wentworth CU is also a good point of contact if you are looking for information on churches around York, other Christian events and organisations, and academic conferences with an evangelical theme.
